●Deepika’s first major hit was not ‘Om Shanti Om’. It was a commercial for Liril soap. Initially, the brand was endorsed by Aishwarya Rai, and after her Deepika was roped in for the colourful “oof yu maa!” ad for Liril Orange.Then close up and limca advertisements also.

●Deepika learnt acting under Anupam Kher and dance from Shiamak Davar.

●Amitabh Bachchan sent her a bouquet as an appreciation for her performance in ‘Ram Leela’. Of the many accolades that she won for her performance in the film, this one, she believes, is the most cherished.
